Feels like a beautiful morning...

Ironic cause I'm posting in the evening haha, wow I'm such a joker!

So I went to work on Sunday, my half seven start was interesting, mainly because I begged Dad to let me drive there and seeing as I've only had 5 lessons, he had his reserves. Anyway, as soon as i turned out of the drive, I drove into really thick fog which was slightly worrying for a pretty novice driver like me. But anyway i managed to get to work without any major hiccups and then went on to spend most of my day searching foggy fields for horses which didn’t want to be caught anyway and so when I got near ran away to the other end of the field, and the searching would start again. Pretty unfortunate really. Towards the end of the day it brightened up and I was able to see more than 5 meters in front of me which is a bonus in any area of life if you ask me.

(Just incase you were wondering the horses names which i'm sure you weren't...)

Me and Danni went to Costa in our free/lunch today, we spent most of the time trying to hid our food which we didn’t buy in there from the Costa staff, however we weren’t very discrete as we sat on the table that they had to walk past every time they entered or exited the coffee bar, which is a lot more times than you may think! Anyway, I had a Costa Light with Caramel Syrup, only 90 calories, and it was absolutely amazing! Definitely worth paying an extortionate price for as it came in a mug with two handles which amused me continuously! We then went onto Superdrug where I spent about 20 minutes dithering about whether to buy nail varnish in the same colour I already have or not, a pretty simple question with an even more simple answer however me being me had to weigh up the pro’s and con’s and eventually decided to go for a colour I don’t have. So in the end I brought 2true’s top coat, sky blue and liquid eyeliner, 3 for a fiver, you can’t go wrong, except that me and Danni will never get those wasted 20 minutes back which is a bit depressing really…

La La Laaaaaa...

Today I went to Winchester and to Southampton with my Dad to look round their uni's. I'm looking to study Events Management and whilst both uni's seemed like they had excellent courses in my area of interest, both also had their downsides in my opinion. Winchester was absolutely beautiful! The uni was so pretty and had great views due to the hilliness of the city (could also be a bad thing!) but from what I was told there wasnt a massive variety of nightlife, which being a bit of a 'party animal' is something which I am really looking for. Southampton Solent was totally the opposite however, as the town seemed to have a lot of night life but the uni itself wasnt particularly pretty. I'm not ruling either of them out but am going to keep looking I think.

Anyway, last night me and my friends Danni, Rach and Jo went on a little outing we like to call 'Reduced Shopping'. Basically its the ultimate cheapskates night out. Well, i say night out but realistically it involved going to Tesco's and M&S at about 8 o' clock on a friday evening in your pyjamas and seeing how much reduced food you can buy. Sounds pretty sad yes, but don't knock it till you've tried it! I don't really know why we go in our pyjamas, i guess it gives anyone else the impression that we're having a girly night in and have just popped out spontaneously to get some nibbles. When really, we planned this on wednesday and have been excited about it all week...

Whilst in Tesco's, I also finally gave in my awful roots and brought myself some hair dye. My hair had faded and lightened so mcuh over summer that it was going pretty ginger, and my roots looking almost grey due to my natural mousey brown colour coming through and contrasting with the ginge. Unfortunately they didnt have the one I usually use and so had to choose a different brand. It was also actually cheaper so i figured i couldnt go wrong! Obviously thats rubbish, as i managed to dye pretty much everything apart from my hair and so consequently have a slightly lighter than anticipated fringe and a reddy/purple neck.

Before                                                                                After

Finally, I also re-did my nails. Although to be honest, thats hardly suprising as I seem to re-do them every other day due to boredom. This design i found on the internet however it said you had to use rubbing alcohol. Well i dont know about you but i looked EVERYWHERE for flipping rubbing alcohol but no where seemed to sell it. So i thought I'd give water a try instead figuring i wouldnt have lost anything if it didnt work. It looks complicated but is actually dead easy. First paint your nails with whatever colour you fancy, I chose green Barry M, then once dry, cut up squares of newspaper and dip them in water. Now this is the tricky bit, press the newspaper onto your nail and press down really hard making sure you dont move the paper as this will smudge the lettering. Peel the paper off and paint on a top coat to ensure the words dont rub off. Thats it! Simple!

Hopefully one day I'll get better at photographing my nails as I realise these photos are pretty shoddy...

Bed time now I think as I have to be at work tomorrow morning for half seven, yawnnn. bye! ox

Ooh, How Exciting!

My first ever blog post, this excites me! Clearly for me it’s the simple things in life which make me happy.

So, today I came back from visiting my sister at her uni in Portsmouth, I only went for the night with my friend Jo as it was the open day for the university and Jo's interested in going there. Considering the uni doesn't even do the course I want to do you would have thought I wouldn't have wanted to bother travelling all the way down there. But a night sleeping on her floor, hanging out with her flat mates and shopping the next day seemed like a much better idea for a Tuesday/Wednesday than the four lessons I would have attended at school. So I somehow managed to persuade my parents and packed my bags.

Whilst "visiting the uni" aka shopping, I managed to pick up some bargains. Me being me, I’m not into spending a lot of money on not very many items. I think this is mainly down to my job. I work at a stables and do it for the love of the job, not the money as unfortunately there is very little of that coming my way at the end of a Saturday. I get enough though, it means I have an eye for bargains and am able to spend little money on quite a few items. So anyway, I snapped up these grey suede style leggings, which I think are going to be a favourite much loved item of mine, for £7.99. A floral scarf also for £7.99, both from H&M, and a burgundy baggy jersey top which was £16 but seeing as I had a £10 gift card, I figured that six pounds wasn't going to break the bank too much. And seems as it was from Topshop I couldn’t resist splashing the cash. (Ha!)

Having left Portsmouth and back in the comfort on my own home, I decided to try out a new nail art design. It was pretty easy to do and only took 15 minutes or so.

I'm a massive fan of Barry M as they do amazing colours, it goes on really nicely and is affordable. So I started off by painting two coats of my base, for which I used 'Matte White'. After this had dried I painted the top half of my nail with 'Black Crackle' and filled in the tips with the 'Black'. I finished off with a top coat to give my nail some shine and viola!
Well that's pretty much it for my first blog post, I'm off to grab some dinner and then out to zumba. bye! ox
